AILDM Award Winners 2015

November 27, 2015 Comments Off

Impressions Landscape – Design is proud to announce that we have received not one, not two, but three awards this year at the 2015 AILDM Awards Night, which was held on Friday 23rd October at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney.

Adam McDonald and Ben Skiperdene were presented with a Gold Award & a Best in Category Award for Residential Designs $50,000 – $150,000, for their great work on a recent Concord project. Adam McDonald also received a Plantscape Gold Award, for the planting design on the same garden. This is a huge credit to both Adam and Ben. All their hard work and enthusiastic passion for the art of landscape design has been duly recognised.

These awards have been presented on the back of previous successes. In 2012 and 2013 we received multiple National Landscape awards presented by AILDM for Residential design and Plantscape.

The Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) are a highly respected industry organisation comprising of members Australia wide. The AILDM National Design Awards are presented annually and celebrate the exceptional quality of work that is produced by the best landscape designers across the country. The quality of work that is encouraged at the Institute and at these events is very inspiring and we are filled with great pride to think that the caliber of the work we continue to produce is maintained within these standards.

We would like to thank AILDM once again for these prestigious awards. The whole Impressions team from design to construction to maintenance deserve thanks for their dedicated hard work. Most importantly though, we must thank our fantastic clients Brad and Kym Warner for trusting in us and allowing us to design, construct and now maintain their unique and engaging gardens. What an excellent reward for all!

Garden Maintenance Service Sydney

October 3, 2014 Comments Off

Check out our Dee Why garden after our recent Garden Maintenance Service visit. This garden was completed early this year and is just starting to come together nicely after a couple of garden maintenance visits. Our green-thumbed maintenance guys are manicuring these topiary balls and they are starting to fill out. It will make for some simple but effective planted sculptures in the years to come.

Green Walls / Vertical Garden

February 17, 2014 Comments Off

Green Walls aka Vertical Gardens aka Living Walls have been around for a while now and are far from a new design fad… As the technology and experience in this product has strengthened we are liking them more and more.

These systems are great for providing greenery in places where otherwise this might not have be possible. They are useful in tight spaces and in situations where additional wall like screening is required to hide something ugly or something best kept out of sight, things like service areas or even ugly fences or walls.

The real benefit of these structures however are the design capabilities and the enormous potential for a grand visual statement!

Through good horticultural knowledge and strategic designing they can be a unique design asset for any property. Different plants based on the desired look and preferred arrangement can be selected when carefully planned in with the environmental conditions of the space. Here at Impressions Landscape – Design we really like the idea of utilising a Green Walls in this fashion. We love the flexibility of the options available through planting combinations. Although, even a Green Wall consisting of one solitary plant species can deliver a punchy result!

If you would like your own Green Wall and think your property could benefit from one of its own why not let us at Impressions Landscape – Design bring one to life for you!

Here is a sample of a Green Wall we finished on a project in Dee Why recently. We like the visual effect it delivers to the internal spaces of the home through the fish bowl effect delivered by the large glass Bi-fold doors.

Here is another we did for a Sydney Hotel facade..

Landscape Construction: Concord Project No.2

November 18, 2013 Comments Off

We are currently transforming this once uninspired Concord garden into a plush, charismatically quirky show-style garden. Our great clients came to us to breathe life into the property and we were only more than happy to take the garden on a tangent of its own. Live-in garden spaces, custom Water Feature design, original curved sandstone feature walling and matching bench seating oppose a built in fire pit for nestling into on a cool winter evening. Adding to this theme large floating slabs of granite incorporate subtle level changes, even a veggie patch has been worked into the space. Major renovation works to an existing water feature creates a unique entrance into this modern outdoor space. The clients brave enough to opt for a funky and vibrant garden design theme. An eclectic and interesting palette of plants will complete the garden. Now only minor details to go in!! We will have the completed garden up soon.

Landscape Design: Bangor Project

September 24, 2013 Comments Off

This is another comprehensive landscape design project recently under construction, this time in Bangor. Impressions Landscape – Design was also engaged at design phase for cosmetic design works associated with not only the gardens but the house facade also. A contemporary face lift and well partnered lush new gardens were designed to work as one. With subtle oriental roots and a understated minimalist undertone. Clean simple lines and a striking material palette have totally transformed this property. A quondam property now flaunts refined house and garden architecture which will have the neighbours talking for while!…

Pool & Landscape Construction: Bonnet Bay Project

September 11, 2013 Comments Off

Here is our current landscape design in construction in Bonnet Bay, South Sydney. We are dropping in a large curved infinity edge pool, entertaining deck and side steps leading down to another landscaped garden area. This project possesses many difficulties, excessive engineering and limited access to the property, just to name a few. All excavation, materials and machinery have had to be craned in by a 40 tonne crane which involved road closures. The house and top deck structure have had to be stabilised to allow for construction. This will be a special project once completed, very complex but very rewarding.

Stay tuned for more updates…
